Founded by Allen Lewitt, Lewitt Bass is located in Durban, South Africa.

Making his first guitar in 1986 and, over the years, with a background in engineering and design, he has turned his hobby into a career. Steadily progressing this craftmanship has resulted in a quality, handmade, light production instrument, unique in design and sound.

This has been achieved by collaborating with professional musicians, combining beautiful African hardwoods, and electronic engineering specifically designed for this instrument.

 

Mission Statement:

Committed to the development and refinement of instrument building, remaining open to continually improve the Bass Player's experience.

Emphasising on the basics of what an instrument should be,  where this experience is drawn from the quality and nature of the basic instrument and not as much from aftermarket equipment.

Obstacles that may stand in the way of this progress become a challenge, opening doors to improvement.

In this way we strive to provide a quality instrument that can be successfully put to task across the entire spectrum of modern day demands.
